Details

Embracing all the quality design features, functionality and worldwide design patents of the popular Skorpion™ Skates - SKORPIES have been specifically scaled down with extra emphasis on quality and safety, to provide the ultimate skating experience for children aged five - nine.

Along with offering size adjustability and the ability for children to use their own favorite shoes - SKORPIES have smaller 80mm soft compound wheels, lower rated bearings, softer springs, and brakes on both skates. The 80mm 78A PU wheels combined with ABEC 1 bearings further advance SKORPIES' safety features by giving optimum control of the rolling speed.

Design Features

Unsurpassed Stability

SKORPIES’ low centre of gravity makes them extremely easy to balance on, giving the young novice skater confidence to learn.

Wear Your Own Shoes

SKORPIES have been specifically designed to use with a child’s favourite comfortable footwear. Simply strap on and go!

Adjustable Footplates

SKORPIES grow with the child and allow children to share their skates with siblings and friends. The footplate adjustment nut has been especially designed for children to use.

Dual Braking System

Dual non-marking rubber brakes are fitted to the back of both skates for maximum safety.

Increased Rolling Resistance

80mm 78A PU wheels combined with ABEC 1 bearings further advance SKORPIES safety features by giving optimum control of the rolling speed.

Wheel Nuts

In keeping with SKORPIES’ contemporary automotive design, a threaded domed wheel nut complete with an Allen key fitting gives added safety with the look of a hub cap.

I think these are wider than regular roller skates, they have to be to fit over shoes, but that makes them real stable. Looks like they are going to last a long time so worth the money spent on them. (Posted on 10/20/14)

My daughter felt it amazed about skorpies, it was pretty easy for her, her previous inline skates gave a good equilibrium, but using skorpies was easier for her, she want to go everywhere with skorpies. (Posted on 12/12/13)

I bought these for my daughter and although she was too young at the time, she is growing into being able to use these skates. She is now seven. When I bought them, they were heavy and overwhelming for her. They are also very wide. As she is getting bigger and older they are less in the way and she is enjoying them. They are well-built and sturdy. (Posted on 6/12/13)

We bought these for our daughter because she wanted to skate outside. We love them because they can be worn with her own shoes, are adjustable for her growing foot and she can put them on by herself. She has also been able to use them at our local roller rink. (Posted on 7/4/12)
Good way to startReview by Jennylee

Well i thought these might have been a nightmare for my 5 year old. She just couldn't get it after many minutes and watching my son on rollerblades seem to be easier. But eventually she started getting the hang of it. I would warn that whilst more sturdy than rollerblades, they seem to be harder to get going. Also for the younger ones, they may find it harder to keep the wheels apart so they aren't tripping on each other. Having said that, she does love them so a good start to the rollerblading world.... Very ingenious straps so my daughter is able to adjust them to fit whatever shoes/trainers she decides to wear with the skates!
The skates are bigger/wider/longer than similar skates, so take a bit of getting used to, and currently she can only use them on grass, as they are VERY fast - but now that the weather is better, we have had lots of fun learning about balance etc! Yes, she is covered in bruises - but gets as many falling out of our tree, or off her bike, or colliding with other children in the playground at school...
They seem very well made and should last longer than she'll be able to use them, as her feet should get too big before the skates wear out (at least, being orange, she might be able to pass them to my nephew afterwards!) (but - on the first outing, one of the brakes fell off - not a fault, just hadn't been tightened enough - a reminder that I should have checked all of the fixings before using!!) (Posted on 2/17/11)
